Tim’s Too A Family Favorite!!

Over the weekend we went out for dinner at our favorite place again! We almost go every weekend now because Tim’s Too is a favorite for us all! When we arrived this past weekend we were surprised to no wait at all! We would happily have waited an hour just as we had the weekend prior it’s absolutely worth it. Besides we don’t really mind waiting and hanging out together we enjoy family time very much. We were very excited to get to eat outside. Tim’s has about 4 or 5 maybe little patio tables directly outside of the restaurant. The tables give a great view through a giant picture window to the grill where your food is prepared. The chef cooks your meal right on the flat top in front of you. The kids get a kick out of watching. The set up is like a buffet. You get one bowl to fill with noodles, sauce, and veggies of your choosing. There are several different pasta options as well as about 13 sauce options. It’s absolutely delicious! In a separate smaller bowl you get to fill with meat. I always choose chicken and I put garlic ( they have this as a fresh option) and sea salt on my chicken so it will get cooked in on the grill. At the end of the line you have a chose station. It has these sticks that you can add to your bowl. They are for flat bread, tofu, scallops, and shrimp. The flat bread is so good we all opted for 2 each! When our food came I chose to go back for a bit more sauce. Your welcome to as much as you like after it’s prepared. So I did! Eating outside is a fantastic experience in itself. People watching at it’s finest all those walking by. There were many birds that would come up close hoping we would drop something for them to snatch up. The beach being just down the bluff and all the fancy cars that drove past. Our service was wonderful even greeted with a hug by the owner’s son! We feel like vip guest when we enter Tim’s Too

Turning a rough morning into laughter!

I wake up feeling like total dog poop this morning. The running nasty kind that once you step in you just can’t get off your shoe. Yea, it was pretty darn awful. So I took myself into a shower and I medicated myself as much as I could and still function. I decided that I would not let being sick take my weekend from me. I had planned this wonderful breakfast for my love and my kids. I was going to make it happen. So I quietly exit the room carefully turning the knob attempting to not wake up my sleeping bear. I successfully escape off to wake the boys. ( The two macaw’s in the cages in the kitchen.) I turn on the light and I grab the container their food is kept. I first feed Mack dumping and refreshing his dish. Carefully pulling out some of the things I know are his favorite and putting those to the top of the dish. Just as papa would do if he had woke them. I open Boris door to his cage and let him climb out and crawl to the door of his cage. I take his dish out and replenish it as well. I then clean up the kitchen a bit. Cleaning off the table the stove and pulling out everything I would need for this fabulous breakfast I was about to make. I walk toward the second bathroom which also has our laundry room I was thinking of starting a load of laundry before the kitchen throw down. It was then that I realize that Clare Bear had flooded the entire bathroom/laundry room and it was making it’s way to the hallway darn near to the kitchen. My heart races good gravy the water was a few inches deep.

I frantically wake Clare to aide me in figuring out how on earth to clean this mess. I now have to once again carefully turn the handle on the door and get towels from the dirty clothes in my room. In and out 6 times I survive without waking him. Gosh he really does sleep like a bear. Clare and I giggle and slide through the water. Having a good old time. I return to the kitchen to start breakfast while Clare bear finishes up. She later returns to tell me she is all down. I make the mistake of asking her if it plunged and flushes! The girl goes flushes the toilet and here it comes again. Flooding everything all over again. I just begin laughing uncontrollably. I left Clare this time to figure it out as I had food on the stove. My creation of Reese Stuffed French Toast. What is this your wondering? Deliciousness20180519_1138481829061161.jpg!!!
It is a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar to make the “stuffed filling” I spread that on one side of the bread. I then sprinkle a few pb chips and semi sweet chips on top of that and top with second piece of bread. After making into sandwich I dip then entirety of it into a beated egg mixture. Just as you would regular french toast. Grill in butter and top with whip cream. My love is a bit on the spoiled side so he requested syrup and nuts on top of his. So that is exactly what he got. Three of those and 10 slices of bacon. Then man cleaned his plate. Clare finally got the water dried once again and we left the toilet to the professional after he finished his breakfast. 🙂 20180519_110401.jpg20180519_1111201209900326.jpg20180519_1138481829061161.jpg20180519_1138431417256629.jpg

Quaker Steak and Lube Dinning

Yesterday we had made plans to take our very own Clare Bear out to dinner. It was to be a celebration. You see my Clare Bear is my shy girl of the bunch. A social butterfly with her peers but often has trouble interacting with other adults or those she doesn’t know. Earlier in the week Clare had decided she really wanted to join a stem camp. In order to successfully join she would need paperwork filled out and a recommendation from a teacher. They would take a look at things like behavior and attendance and that recommendation when they made their choice as to which kids got into camp. It was a pretty big deal to Clare so we made sure it was to us too. I mean after all it’s a lot and I do mean a whole lot of work to get me to sign papers. Finding a pen, getting me to sit still to read and fill them out, it’s quite the task in itself. So that took her a couple of days to accomplish. I didn’t hear anything more about it in fact once my signature hit the paper. On Friday Clare and I went to check the mail and in it had a letter from the school address to her parent. She always gets nervous of letters like that even though never had even one been anything negative to fret. The letter was her acceptance into the stem camp! She was too excited as I was driving and let her open it. I got o watch her face light up as her excitement grew within throughout reading her letter.  We whisked off to our weekend with Marc and upon sharing the news with him it was immediately decided we would celebrate with dinner sometime over the weekend. We tossed several dinner our ideas around in our head. Clare had a pretty clear choice of what she wanted to eat. The girl needed her some cheese fries! So cheese fries it was going to be. Marc decided that Quaker Steak and Lube would be a fun choice that would surely have cheese fries. Kalamazoo bound we were. It is about an hour drive from home to dinner. Upon arrival we were taken back instantly by all there was to see. There were cars and motorcycles hanging from the ceiling. It had the appearance of a garage or a mechanic shop. We were seated in a both in a room that was to be the corvette room. In actuality it did have several things that were misplaced to that theme though. Marc was able to quickly point them out. There was a picture of a Porsche and a Ferrari both on the Corvette wall. It was kind of fun picking out the things that were out of place. They had some really awesome stuff to look at while you waited. Our waitress was dressed in all black. Her top had a neck piece that just didn’t look right. It resembled a turtle neck that had maybe been a bit stretched out. It didn’t have a professional appearance at all. It caught my eye as being off each time she had come to the table in fact. The other servers had Lube shirts that were clearly uniforms. Those had the garage look that I believe they were trying to obtain. The menu was as I expected wings, chicken strips, burgers, and of course the loaded fries our Clare Bear had requested. I myself didn’t think I was up for much food. I picked a appetizers of just 4 pretzels and beer cheese. We had gotten two orders of these one for all of us to try and have together and one as my meal. Clare got herself a combo deal giving her 5 boneless wings and a pretty large plate of loaded fries. The fries looked yummy it was fresh bacon and shredded cheese melted on them and topped with scallions. Her wings were large chunks of cut breast meat. They were covered in bbq. You could tell that the sauce had been squirted on them and not tossed in them. I prefer mine to be tossed. Malachi got a Boom Boom shrimp plate. Malachi enjoys that Marc gives him the power to pick anything he may want to choose on the menu. He gets a bit more creative with his meal choices with that power. It was pretty clear instantly he was not a fan of his meal. He pulled off all the breading from his shrimp that had the boom boom sauce and only ate the shrimp from the middle. I picked at his fries as it was a huge portion that even with me helping he was unable to finish even half of them. Marc got himself a bucket of wings that were far spicier than he anticipated them being. I think they were along the lines of zest lickiers lol.  Upon finishing his first wing he said babe the menu did not justify the spiciness in these. I am going to need more blue cheese. I let a giggle as this isn’t the first time he has felt such a way about a wing choice of his. Our waitress, I never could seem to over look her uniform it was truly a issue for me. She never listened the the kids speak. In fact Clare had to ask for a box 3 times before being acknowledge and I still had to clarify what was being asked. Our server mixed up our drinks sitting them on the table and only realizing her mistake seeing the bubbles fizz from what should have been my water. We only tipped 20 percent because it was not the best service I have ever had. We tend to be pretty good tippers if service is on point. Even when it’s not still leave the 20%. Clare enjoyed her fries and that is truly what the trip was about. My pretzels were delicious but the very small cup of cheese I was given wasn’t nearly enough for 4 large pretzels.

Prairie Farms Peanut Butter Chocolate Milk

Alright lets just take a moment to recognize the greatest milk on the planet!  I first discovered it’s peanut buttery goodness when I was working a third part time job at a local truck stop. I was in charge of stocking all of the milk in the coolers and while doing so I seen the pint size special edition peanut butter milk. I had very little time to eat and would often skip eating because frankly I didn’t get sick if I limited my food intake. So when I seen it I just had to try it. I walked right out of the cooler with it in hand and made the purchase. Oh my goodness did it set the taste bud receptors off like little fireworks on the fourth of July! It was like a pop rock explosion in my mouth I was in love. I had already finished the pint before finishing the short stroll back to the cooler duties. I tossed the bottle in the trash and made sure to purchase another on the way out. I actually missed the job dearly simply because it was the only place I could find this delicious milk to purchase. My dearest loves to shop at Martins. I bit of a expensive grocery store in my opinion so I don’t ever shop there. He goes for his fresh produce for the animals. When we walked in there it was right upon entering the side door by the cafe my milk!!! They have it 10 for $10 every six weeks or so and whenever they do Marc and I scoop up every single one. I can easily finish 15 pints in a weekend. It’s the very best stuff in the whole world. It taste like a liquid peanut butter cup! I would recommend everyone trying it!!!!! It’s a limited addition so maybe if we are start purchasing we can keep it around. I know I NEED it in my life! It has a big 8 GRAMS of protein!!!! Which is probably the thing that makes me feel better when I have gone all day without eating.
