It is no secret I have leg pain that can be very intense for me to get through at times. Often Marc gives me leg massages to help ease the pain. Recently we got this relaxing massage oil hoping it would be a nice treat to my leg rubs.
My desire to rub Marc’s shoulder with the oil being great as well. When the relaxing massage oil arrived the first thing I did was smell it. Next I put it to Marc’s nose to smell. There is no way I could have it all over our bodies if we don’t both enjoy the smell. We tend to be a bit picky with our smelly stuff as well. Only buying our hand soap at bath and body kind of picky.
Marc’s reaction to the smell was he enjoyed it. Upon asking what came to mind for him it smelled “Fresh”. My reaction was it was a distinct lavender scent. Lavender is such a relaxing scent.
When we used the oil it was pretty freaking fantastic. It didn’t leave behind a oily feel. It rubbed into the skin and left a moisturized feeling. Marc would have rushed to the shower before bed if it was oily or left a residue of any kind behind. I was so pleased to see this was not the case. We went to bed never needing to take the massage oil back off.
The scent in itself is relaxing but there is nothing better then giving my love a massage and getting one in return. It is calming and distressing for us both. Even if we are unable to take the pain away for each other we are able to provide a distraction from it.
We both gave the massage oil a five stars. We will purchase again absolutely! I’d like to check and see what other scents they have to offer. The bottle I got was 8 oz and it takes very little for the massage so it goes a long way.
My children are just wonderful! Today is my birthday and as a early treat yesterday my daughter and her boyfriend took me to the movies. They treated me to the new Christopher Robin movie. Disney’s new spin off from the classic Winnie The Pooh tale.
Ecstatic was I to be going to the movie with my mvp’s in life. They even treated me to the nice theater. We had our over-sized reclining chairs and our food delivered to our seats. The theater was not very full maybe ten people at most. We had picked perfect seats perfectly positioned in the center of the screen.
The previews had all three of us ohhing and awwing. Disney movies are just so incredible these days. Nothing like the vhs I played as a child. Watching all the remakes be done is really a neat experience.
Christopher Robin is the story of him no longer as a child but all grown up. It’s the classic tale of forgetting your child hood. Letting it fade as adult life creeps in. So easy for us adults to get wrapped on careers and money and lose sight of the things we held dear as a child.
Christopher Robin also a father in the movie who lost his way to connect to his daughter. I am sure parents all over the world can easily relate to the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his role as a father.
Piglet, Eeyore, Roo, Kanga, and the rest of the crew all make an appearance in the movie. I wanted the characters to be more adorable then they were. They weren’t the soft cuddly soft animals I remembered. Of course I’m not sure what I expected as this was to take place thirty or so years later. Stuff animals we surely wear as these had in thirty years.
All and all I would rate the movie a solid 8 from me. My daughter I am sure would have given it a 10! She at 14 years old really enjoyed the tale. She was exclaiming of it all the way home. I recommend it as a family night out!
When I meet Marc I was so uneasy driving. In fact I hated it. There had been many times that I just let my license expire in hopes to never have to drive again. Then my love put me in my first Subaru! He got me a forester. It was an instant bond I had with my car! I felt safe and comfortable.
I felt like when I turned the wheel I had total control of my car. Something I hadn’t always felt with previous vehicles. My Subaru gave me a sense of security. I was pleased to drive. I even found myself volunteering to taxi those who needed it without cringing at the thought of being behind the wheel.
As Marc watched my love for my car grow he mentioned how I should set out to be an Ambassador and share my love. I didn’t really know what it was to be a Subaru Ambassador but I was intrigued. So I gave it some research.
Marc didn’t have much information himself other then I would get information on the new 7 passenger that Subaru was soon to come out with and I would get some fun stuff. When I read over the information as to what it meant to be a Subaru Ambassador my excitement grew! This was surely a role meant for me!!!
I would get to share about a brand Subaru that I already had fallen in love with. I would stand by Subaru whole hardheartedly as I did believe in it. I felt safe and secure in my car. Marc and I will give my car to Allen when I get a bigger one. I trust this brand with my child’s life!
I applied and eagerly waited to see if I fit the role to Subaru! Receiving the email I had been accepted was an exciting day! I’ll admit the emails that my gear was on the way was even more exciting! Now it’s official and I am an Ambassador for my favorite brand. My merchandise has been rolling in. I have been shouting from the rooftops of my love! Sharing so much fun stuff with everyone. I can’t wait for Subiefest and to meet new people. I think my Subaru gear might just be the coolest clothing I own too! My adventure has just begun!
Living in two houses means lots of commuting. In the middle of my drive I pass this new elegant little doughnut shop. Red Coach Donuts is the name. It seemed every time I had wanted to try it I had bad timing. They are only open from 6am to 11pm Tuesday through Saturday. I had been seeing them all over Facebook with reviews of delicious donuts.
I just had to try them for myself. I did read many reviews of them being a bit over priced. So I was prepared to spend a bit more that morning for our treat. I liked that I knew in advance I may be spending a bit more. The reviews that I had read put them at about 23$ a dozen. So I had prepared for about 2$ a doughnut.
Upon arrival that Saturday morning I was unable to pull in the parking lot as it was completely packed. I easily accessed parallel parking on the side of the street. Walking up the look is very crisp and elegant. Entering was difficult as the line was to the door.
Standing in line I noticed their pay it forward board. A board where someone was able to buy a doughnut for another. A kind gesture to give. Some gave to a stranger some to a family member. The board was so inspiring. Paying it forward is so important in the community it makes for a better place.
As we waited in line I was enjoying a refreshing glass of lemon ice water provided free of charge on he counter. I had arrived just before ten and I’d say nearly 50% of the donuts were sold out. There were still many to choose from but they were getting quite low. The lady behind me in line asked if there were more in the back and there were not.
I was there to pick up 18 donuts and while ordering I could hear the disappointment behind me. My total was just over 30$ not hitting the $2 mark each I had expected too. They had discounts for buying in larger quantities. Despite what I had heard I didn’t find them to be expensive. I found them to be well priced.
The donuts were out of this wold delicious. Each melting in your mouth as you bite into them. Incredibly fresh and the frosting was perfect as well. It was well worth the line and the price paid. I can’t wait to go back again and try some that were sold out this visit.
I wanted to try a glazed but those were long gone. I would suggest going early in the morning as they do sell out quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Friendly and clean environment. Don’t forget when you visit pay it forward and leave a doughnut for another.
Is there a restaurant that is just an absolute favorite of your entire family? With a family of mine’s size that really has to be a superb restaurant. That restaurant for us is none other then the famous Tim’s Too!
We make several trips to our favorite stop to eat! You can read about some of them here . This last time we went was even better then the rest. We walk in welcomed like family! The owners son greeting the kids and I with hugs! Marc getting a good firm hand shake!
Jake (the owner’s son) himself gave us just outstanding service. My Favorite thing aboutTim’s Too is that I get to create whatever I would like. I am a very picky eater. I like to see what I am putting in my bowl! I love making sure that nothing I am not a fan of accidentally makes it into my said bowl. At Tim’s your able to load the bowl as you choose. You choose and they fuse.
Watching your food cooked on the flat top out in the open is a real treat. The large picture window makes you able to see this feat from even outside in the patio type seating. Although I am not a drinker I also like to view all the new beers they have stocked. They are always such fun names. So different not at all like the bud and miller choices I am use too.
The sauces are handmade by the owners son. I myself having a selfish allergy wondered if that would limit my choices down to nothing. I was pleased to see it did not. They had a list readily available to let me know what sauces would be okay. They also cook my food separately in a hot wok so there isn’t a chance of cross contamination. The flat bread is absolutly to die for! I always get extra! The up charge being worth each penny. If you haven’t tried them out you surely should. You will not be disappointed.
So I have been searching high and low for the perfect new planner. My timing however wasn’t any good. Apparently planners come out about twice a year. The ones coming out now are for August mostly and directed more towards students.
I was looking for a mommy blogger planner. I didn’t want to get online and print one as I wanted it to be small easy to carry and durable. I wanted it to have lots of space. Space for grocery list and menu planning. A spot for the kids appointments and functions they would need to attend.
I wanted it to have a pocket. For money or coupons of course! I really had it completely envisioned in my head before my search begun. I was not willing to settle for less.
After searching many stores I found it! Inside Barnes and Noble this HUGE book store that I could have been lost in for days without complaint. The Amy Knapp’s Family Planner was absolutely the perfect planner. You can hear more about my adventure in the book store here . The planner has a side tab for menu and grocery list that tears off to easily take into the store! Does it get any cooler than that?
It come equip with stickers for the kids activities and appointments. Amy Knapp’s Planner is the #1 National Bestselling Organizer and frankly I know why! It’s awesome the covers provide the durability that I was hoping for. The front cover even has the pocket that I was so hoping for. It meets all of my needs and then some.
As soon as I seen the movie “Flint” was out I knew I had to see it. As a teenager the family I lived with had most of their family residing in Flint. From 2000-2001 I spent much of my time visiting the town. At the time the Gm plant had recently closed and the economy was taking a nose dive.
My visits were mostly to the church or dinners with the family. I never noticed the poverty that was becoming Flint. It went unnoticed to my teenage eye.
Watching the movie seeing the struggle of the mom’s fighting for their children was an emotional time. I can’t imagine fighting for clean water. Something I see as a right. I mean your surely not intending to pay a water bill for water that isn’t able to be used in any way safely.
I was applaud to see that money could make people rationalize the unsafe water. That it was covered up how ill they made the children. At the same time seeing a group of women come together and make a difference is uplifting. To know that everyday people can make a difference you just must make your voice loud enough.
It was easy for politicians to turn an eye to the iron problem. You could see the chain of command and it’s influence. Money can create such evil in people.
I was happy to see the steps in the direction to fix the problem. Although this will be a long recovery road for Flint. I can’t say I could have stayed and fought like the brave women in the movie. I think I would have gotten my children to safer water before making a stand. What would you have done in their shoes? Watch this amazing movie and tell me!
I had been wanting to see this movie for an entire week. I brought it up a few times throughout trying to find time to squeeze it in. My love for the first Jurassic World made me excited for the second.
When mentioning it to Marc we realized he didn’t see the first one. Later I think he said he may have but even if he did it was so clear he hadn’t remembered it. He would have happily went with but he surely didn’t have the drive or need to see it as me and the girls did.
Somehow we managed the time to watch it together today. I was actually excited for the break in the day that the movie offered. I was very prepared bringing in my sweater shaw as our theater is always a bit more chilly then I like it to be. We all got our popcorn and cotton candy and drinks and found our seats while the movie previews were going. Only about 20 seats were filled.
The movie was pretty much fantastic! I laughed many many times. Owen was even funnier in this one. The new breed of dinosaur created is a total bad a$$. The action was thick and has you on the edge of your seat.
Zia is my favorite character in the movie for sure. She is a little spitfire. I love her heart and love for the animals. When you see the movie I think it will be clearer to why she is just my ultimate favorite. She saves blue!
I thought for a second at the end that this would be the last of them. Then right before the movie cuts it leaves me wondering if there just might be another??? The kids all enjoyed it. Clare (age 13) Hailey age (15) Jacob age (16) all were laughing right along with mom. I enjoyed my break in the relaxing cool theater and would recommend the movie as a must see!
Have you ever been scrolling through face book and come across a post and think oh that would be cool to have? The other day I did just that. I was scrolling my page and a friend had shared these bars that I thought frankly were genius! I haven’t felt safe at my place since I moved in here.
The kids and Marc both had demonstrated how easy it was to penetrate through my locks and door protection. It was a little push and you were into the house. How can you possibly feel safe with that knowledge? Well I couldn’t.
I thought I’d be cute and share the post of the bars. I tagged my boyfriend in them and said babe I need two please! I am not sure he even looked at what the item was before the man had them in the cart. With prime shipping they were due to be at our house in just 24 hours!
Marc sent me a text and told me to look in the Amazon Cart. I missed the hints he was sending to look like three times before he was blunt and said babe check my amazon account orders! I finally picked up on the giant signals he had been sending for many messages. Feeling a bit silly when I looked in the cart and the bars were there.
When they came I taught Allen and Hailey how to use them. Day one they were tried out. I had left and Allen locked the doors with them. Hailey came home before me and tried to break into the house and was not able to. No matter what she tried there was no way to get into the doors. My cheap old doors with janky locks that left me worried all the time were no longer penetrable.
I myself could feel relieved. I was able to get much more sleep. My son and daughter both made comments they are far less worried with them in place. My 7 year old autistic son can no longer answer the door on his own. Which is a HUGE plus. It was scary when he would open the front door while your in the bathroom. I give these bars a 10/10! I love them! I will order another soon to lock the kids out of my bedroom at night!
